hooked on video

Kenny's obsessed with this "Thomas" video I found.

The thing is only half an hour or so, thankfully. It's got a big Japanese steam train in it, which I think is the attraction. He knows the train in the video because we saw one at the museum a couple of weeks ago. But he asks for it every day. And worryingly, his favourite bit seems to be where the Engine calls out its first spoken line; a Japanese-accented "Herro?"

We're likely going to fuel his interest by going on a trip next month. We'll be riding a train pulled by the very steam engine upon which the show's character is based.

I'm constantly amazed at how difficult it is to break free of the straitjacket of the immediately urgent.
