guitar shopping
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
Having been out til 3:30 the night before, we laid low for much of the day, today.
When we finally got out, it was to Ochanomizu for some guitar shopping. By the end of the day Mari was the proud new owner of a used Takamine guitar, and was already piecing out scales. Musicians amaze me—I wouldn't have guessed that someone who'd learned to play the piano could switch to a totally different instrument without missing an .. um .. beat.
We fetched up back in Shibuya for a stroll through Yoyogi park and then yakiniku. Sweet yakiniku.
Three good things that happened today:
1. a fairly smooth recovery from a rare night out
2. Mari's dream of accompanying herself in her Jazz singing takes a step forward
3. Ken my brother got to find out about guitar shopping in a big city
