free Kindle and gross commericalism

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

I've added a banner from Amazon across the top of most of the emuu.net website.

If someone follows the link to Amazon and buys something, I get a small "store credit" as it were. They'd be feeding my book habit. And they might even let me save up for a Kindle. Mmmmm, free Kindle.

Overall, it's something that suits me more than does Google's "adsense". Moreover, I decided that I'd rather go with Amazon this than work with Google because they did something recently involving my baby business that left a bad taste in my mouth. So much so that I've decided to remove them from my life wherever possible. For several months I've been using DuckDuckGo for high-speed, feature-rich, and anonymous web searching. I'm preparing to free myself of Google's mail service and "Google docs". I don't think I'll use one of their crummy iPhone knockoffs.

rand()m quote

Immature poets imitate mature poets steal bad poets deface what they take and good poets make it into something better or at least something different. The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique utterly different than that from which it is torn the bad poet throws it into something which has no cohesion. A good poet will usually borrow from authors remote in time or alien in language or diverse in interest.
