happy anniversary to us!

twenty-seven years and one million words
We hit upon the idea of having a getaway "anniversary dinner" while Mari's parents were here. Just one problem.
We forgot to book the place for dinner.
Instead, we had a rather good home-cooked meal, then headed out to a jazz club in Roppongi. Specifically, the jazz club in the Grand Hyatt. Very reasonable little place, I found ah heh.
It was great to get out for a couple of hours, and this was our first real 'date' since the kid came along 21 months ago. It may seem strange, but as long a dry spell as that it, we're the norm. Mari's sister and her husband haven't been out on a date in at least six years, from what I gather, and some of the other married-with-kids are in the very same boat. Leaving small children with a babysitter is just not done in this country.
