pulling

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2009.09.17

The Boy's started something new. He'll now come to you and try to pull you from what you're doing when he needs you.

At first I thought I was imagining it, but he's since taken to doing it on a regular basis. He'll walk up and hook an arm around your leg and try to pull you to whatever spot he's got in mind.

He'll also point to a certain spot and shout your name. This is his way of telling you that he wants you to go to some spot where you're currently not. Frequently, for instance, he'll tell me to go sit at my spot at the dining table!

rand()m quote

I'm constantly amazed at how difficult it is to break free of the straitjacket of the immediately urgent.
