movie review - The Bucket List
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
This is a movie about two men in the final year of their life. They meet in the oncology ward of a hospital. It turns out that one of them owns the company that controls the hospital chain, and that while actually sick, he's primarily there as something of a PR stunt for the chain. The two are about the same age and hit it off. The wealthier man suggests a series of "bucket list" activities such as scaling the Great Pyramid of Egypt. And that's what they set out to do. Of course, it's unfair of the wealthy man to suggest this, taking the other fellow away from his family in his final weeks.
The cast is engaging, the plot moves along well, and the dialogue is engaging.
Recommended.
