movie review - Spider-Man 3
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
This year continues its losing streak. This is the third Spider-Man movie directed by Sam Raimi, and I think the toll is becoming a bit much. There were several villains in this story, and the degree to which Peter Parker suffers both normal young-person indignities and from the super-hero stuff is simply too much. No one can keep it together through such a thing.
I think they should have kept the story simpler, focusing on only one villain and giving Peter Parker at least something of a break. Maybe it could have been a team-up of the Sand Man and Electro. And maybe they could have played Parker as whatever age the actor playing him is, rather than as a teenager played by an over-worked actor trying to seem naive.
Not recommended.
