The boy does two new forms of talking. The first is a set of new noises with perfectly clear meaning:
"Oooi?" means "I wanna see that."
"Hai!" has extended to "hey, look at this."
The other is a limited form of Japanese sentence. He'll say, "... ta" to convey that something has happened. This comes from the Japanese informal past tense in which one says for instance, "tabeta" to indicate that someone has eaten something. Ken doesn't have any vocabulary, but when he wants to indicate that something's happened he says, "... ta". A short white noise sound and "ta".
