Japanese class

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2009.01.20

My first class went well. I'm signing my life away tomorrow. It's actually only two months, since I missed the first two weeks (more or less), and it's only three hours a day. But I think that that's probably going to be about as much as I can manage, as my homework took an hour when I got home.

One of the things we learned today was how to say "I can do (an activity)", which leads to variants like "at such and such a place I can do (an activity)" and "with such and such a tool I can do (an activity)".

rand()m quote

It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey. The mind that is not baffled is not employed. The impeded stream is the one that sings.
