developing film

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Tokyo, 2009.03.05

I've hit upon a really good film developer in Tokyo. It's the DPE part of the multi-block Yodobashi headquarters in Shinjuku. They do a roll of 36 black and white exposures for $4 in two days, which is both the best price and best turnaround I've found in the city.

And they take points! Having bought various household goods in addition to the film I'm developing, I've got a bank of points that I can use to develop my "one roll a week". Now if only if that store were close enough to be at all worth the trip after I'm no longer coming to Shinjuku for classes....

rand()m quote

Immature poets imitate mature poets steal bad poets deface what they take and good poets make it into something better or at least something different. The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique utterly different than that from which it is torn the bad poet throws it into something which has no cohesion. A good poet will usually borrow from authors remote in time or alien in language or diverse in interest.
