deer

Vancouver island is the sort of place where bears and deer are a fact of life (along with rarer pumas). This evening we ran into some deer on a front yard in a suburban neighbourhood close to where my mum lives.
Other than that, it was shopping day. We bought clothes and other things that we can't get in Tokyo (I'm too big for the clothing stores, for instance). The star purchase of the day was a Canadian made "Jolly Jumper" for Kenny to bounce around in. These are available in Tokyo but are hideously expensive. I'm going to have to sort out how to hook it up to our Tokyo-style doorways, which have no lip along the frame. Hmm.....
