we've arrived

The Boy got to meet his uncle Ken as well as his Aunt Van Impe today. We arrived to find Vancouver atypically sunny and warm, and The Boy was a hit with his uncle and aunt (inasmuch as he was not a squawking ball of fuss). Gramma was here to meet us as well, though she had to catch the ferry back to Nanaimo before the day was done. She left us with a delicious stew that was a welcome greeting taste of Canada.

Amazingly, The Boy was in great spirits throughout the trip. He stayed his usual buoyant self, and never cried. One of the things that I suspect worked in our favor was the pit-stop we made at a day room in Narita airport. They have rooms that allow you to have a shower and a nap. They cost $16 and are definitely worth it if you are traveling through Narita with an infant or small child.
