peace on Earth
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
I work for the IT department of an investment bank, and often come home wound up and tense. When I get home it's amazing to my little boy, who's usually sleeping peacefully or cooing for my attention. It restores a peaceful feeling.
I'm cherishing it while it lasts, as I know it'll be all too soon before he's asking a million "why" questions and is generally getting into everything. And then there will be the inevitable demands for a TV, a car and a University education*.
To those, I already have answers. TV: friggin' forget it. Car: get a job. University: yeah, that's a good idea -- it'll get you out of the hou^H^H^H^H out into the world.
But otherwise I know that I'm unprepared for all of the changes ahead. So for now I'll enjoy the peace while it lasts.
