twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2008.04.26

Sometimes I take photos of rather mundane things like whatever is under my feet, or whatever wall or doorway I happen to be passing. It doesn't make for gripping, visceral stuff, but I enjoy making scenes out of a few odd shapes on the ground, or capturing some of the countless incidental man-made arrangements that mark our public spaces.

Here are some recently examples. These were taken in Gotanda within minutes of one another on an overcast day.

rand()m quote

I'm constantly amazed at how difficult it is to break free of the straitjacket of the immediately urgent.
