Tokyo is hot tonight (for "winter")

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2008.03.11

I came home to find a screaming boy and a distraught Mari. He'd been screaming for 30 minutes by that point, and not feeding. I suggested that we strip him of his clothing because he was quite warm and flushed. I had it in mind that we could check him for new problems, but he calmed down as soon as we had his clothes off. I guess the poor little guy was just hot.

It was 10C warmer today than it has been since he's been alive, so I guess the place warmed up. We're on the top floor and have a southern exposure.

rand()m quote

In the wake of 9/11, we [in America] have made the decision as a society that we can never again create something in which we can take pride, for fear that someone will destroy it. Moreover, we must suppress any trace of individualism, lest someone have the desire to rise above the bland sameness that protects us. I have, alas, no idea how to recapture our courage.
