I've got a prediction. It's that by 2013, someone will be working on an OpenXP; an open-source version of Windows XP. The reasons will be to continue a OS that's compatible with the massive install base of Windows, separate from the expensive, unstable, and bloated official Windows upgrade path. Which, by that time, will likely be Windows Vista, now a year old and nowhere in sight.
So, that's my techie prediction, as of Jan 25, 2008.
(Hey, I have to have something to occupy my time while waiting for the birth of little Kenny.)
Note from 2022: Wrong!
