memento day

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Matsushima, 2008.04.04

Today was another day of firsts. It started with a boat cruise -- Ken's first. That took us through an archipelago (first #2) and through the seagull-clouded waters of a bay (firsts #3 and #4 for seagulls and bays respectively).

Then daddy picked up a couple of small mementos to commemorate the trip -- a set of two small wooden dolls.

Then it was time to see a museum (#5) of glassworks that interested Grandma and mum. Needless to say dad took a lot of photos (not a first).

After that, another everyday Shinkansen trip and we were back in Tokyo. Just as we were settling the baby in after his bath, there was a strong earthquake (roughly a three). Adding another first!

It was the fifth consecutive day without sign of the hernia. The worst may be behind us.
