sick

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Tokyo, 2008.04.02

I've been sick a lot recently. I don't know if it's the changing season, the stress at work or the adjustment to our new lifestyle (probably a combination of all of these and more -- let's not forget moving into middle age!) but I was largely out of commission today with a cold that has been dogging me for three weeks.

It was very much a stay-indoors day anyway, with crap weather and nothing on the agenda regardless. We spent the day chatting and catching up, and I got a lot done with the new photo management system I've been building. I added some 1100 new photos to the tool, and started winnowing out the losers and moving the keepers into collections. I'm also trying to keep all of the information about camera equipment and locale and whatnot sorted. A *lot* of work.

rand()m quote

If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it. A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.
