in praise of my girl
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
Been thinking about everything that Mari's done for me during the exile crisis.
She not only stuck by me during that time, keeping in touch by email and even video when she could, but she ran around taking care of things while I was stuck here. She got my things from Tokyu Stay in Gotanda where I'd been living before I was tossed out of the country. She helped where she could with the paperwork and even in my dealings with EDS. She even arranged a birthday party for me upon my return. It was a joint affair for me and two others with similar birthdays, which made it that much more fun.
Today as we walked around the city, it really struck me how if anything my sudden departure from the country (and from her life) didn't seem to phase Mari at all and that if anything our relationship's grown stronger.
