assembling my own visa

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Vancouver, 2006.02.06

I'm assembling my own visa for a return to Tokyo. It seems that for my employer in Toronto, I'm now accounted for on an overseas visit and there's no job for me to return to (along with no home). I gather that they've been billing the client for my accommodations.

And those accommodations? I decent little B&B in North Vancouver. It's run by a Polish couple and I'm enjoying it. I bought a round of drinks last night for a lesbian couple that married in their native Switzerland are honeymooning here. They told me that in their country there were people who would not celebrate their marriage. I told them to stay out of the Interior!

rand()m quote

I feel fortunate that I enjoyed the blandishments of modernity. I had hip replacement and root canal. I was able to travel on airplanes. I was able to take cheap food for granted. I went to the movies. I enjoyed rock 'n' roll. And now I'm ready to move on.
