comet Michael

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2005.08.29

I'mmmmmm back. Comet Michael is doing another (short) revolution around the star of Toronto.

The weather here is perfect. I know, not much of a journal entry, but I'm pretty 'lagged and the one stand-out thing about my return has been the beautiful weather. It's funny, thinking about coming back to T.O. for clear air!

My first impressions so far - I was appalled at the Canada Customs people this time around. Two of them were collecting the statement cards from the arriving travellers, and were lounging around with their feet up while doing so. What a welcome to the country! I know that this isn't Japan, and I certainly don't expect convenience store staff to jump to attend you and tell you "welcome" but what the hell kind of operation is this....

Then I met Tracey and she was wearing a new 70's style outfit and has had her hair lightened. She's lost weight since I've been away, and looks good.

I've been showing the first rolls from my trip to Japan. The photos I took of weird little buildings and other Japan-isms are the ones that seem to resonate with people over here as well.
