rocket dryer

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2005.05.28

Tonight we went out for Geoff C's birthday. We had a fine Mexican dinner at Mariachi's, then went down the way to the "St. Louis", a sports bar that has a large patio which is just the thing for semi-drunken bellowing.

That place has the fiercest hand dryers any of us had ever seen. They made about as much noise as a car engine, and put out a terrific gale that was strong enough for you to see the skin on your hands flapping in the strength of it. I don't know what use such strength provides, but I have to admit my hands were dry in about five seconds.

The race is not always to the swift, nor the fight to the strong, but that's the way to bet.
