Korean-style Greek

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Halifax, 2004.07.04

This evening my girlfriend and I went over to Charlie's place where he and Andrea made a beautiful Greek dinner. We had pork skewers and Greek salad and sat on his balcony and watched Greco-Canadians driving back and forth with their blue-and-white flags because Greece had just won the European soccer finals. A very Greeky night all round.

rand()m quote

It has always seemed strange to me...The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.

—John Steinbeck, Cannery Row
