twenty-seven years and one million words

Good day, sorry for the long absence. The host for this domain is located in the bedroom of the apartment that my brother and his wife rent in Vancouver. Normally this is no problem.

But in mid-February, as I was staggering around in a one-day, one-metre snowfall, there was a fire blazing two units above their apartment. The firemen came and put it out. And when Ken and Heidi came home, they found 5cm of water filling their place.

Then the landlord told them that they'd have to get everything out, because the floor had to be pulled out lest mold set in between the wooden flooring and the concrete floor beneath that.

So the guys had to pull everything out of the apartment and into a garage somewhere and look for places to live.

Happily, they're back in their apartment, now. Unfortunately, the wooden flooring didn't survive - no they have carpet. But on the plus side the etherlabs box still works (not sure why, if the flooding was all that bad).

And now I'm back online.

rand()m quote

Selfish leaders increase risk by placing themselves first. It's a fundamental mistake to assume that what is good for us personally is mutually exclusive to what is good for everyone. That kind of zero-sum game is for cowards, and in the end, we all pay the price for this type of latent, toxic leadership.
