too tired for hockey

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Halifax, 2004.05.11

I'm on support this week, so I just made it home in time to see the Flames's second, artful, amazing beautiful goal last night.

Truly, it was one of the finest moments in hockey I can remember. I was too wiped from the 13-hour day to watch it through, and packed it in after the pager stopped buzzing at around 23:00.

rand()m quote

It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
