farewell, orange chair

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2003.09.09

O, calamity! My chair broke tonight, while I was sitting on it chatting on the phone with my gal. At long last, my $1 chair won at an auction at the office in 1996 has fallen apart. The chair - seen below in my apartment in Vancouver - served me very well over the years. I doubt I will see its like again. Sniff.

I took it downstairs and left it with the discarded sofas and whatnot, thanked it, and wished it fare well. I imagine, from its nasty rubberized plastic arm rests and dull orange cloth, that it dated to mid 80's. I certainly can't fault its build quality.
