movie review - Halloween: Resurrection

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2003.08.28

At the end of the previous Hallowe'en movie, "H20", Michael's head is convincingly cut off with an axe. Needless to say, the first minutes of this one are spent explaining that away.

Then the next are spent killing off, after at least ten Hallowe'en movies, the heroine. There. I said it. She dies.

After that, it's really just an exercise in post-Scream slashing. The clueless young cast goes to Michael's home to film an 'Internet experience'. Everyone gets butchered, except for the two you'd expect to survive.

This movie's not awful, but it tries to be.

Not recommended.

rand()m quote

It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
