another photo meetup

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2003.08.13

Tonight I went to this month's photo.meetup.com session. None of the people from last month showed, though I met two new interesting fellows, one of whom 'fell into' photography while doing A/V work for a stage production. The other one got into it while doing photoshoppery for a TV show. He had a Canon 10D. It was pretty cool, but I'd hate to have to take a photo in a hurry with it.

But before I met anybody, I was waiting at one of the five goddamn entrances to the Madison (it's far larger than it used to be, IIRC), when along comes John Simpson. He was part of the gang from way back in the Trimark days - it's been years since I've seen him.

He had no idea that Sleeuw - with whom he got entangled in the Coign adventure - was in Tokyo, which surprised me.

He has one of my cards. Maybe I'll hear from him.
