warplane museum
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
I spent the day with my dad, my step-mother Renate, and my uncle Wolf. We went out to the old gliding club where I essentially grew up. Then out to the Warplane History Museum in Hamilton. It was interesting seeing some of the characters from the club after twenty-some years. And the museum was worthwhile, too. They have an amazing number of planes in there ranging from teensie trainers to some Cold War era oddities and even a 1:1 scale replica of the control area of the Space Shuttle.
The Shuttle's control deck is surprisingly analog.
We wound up at a Thai place by the Oakville Go station that turned out to be surprisingly good. Great service, fine food, good prices. It was called something insipid like "Thai/Satay Place".
