rented some kayaks

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Vancouver, 2002.08.17

Today we went down to the beach, rented some kayaks, and spent two hours bobbing amongst the wind-driven waves, the motor-driven pleasure craft, and the odd bit of stationary architecture like bridges and rocky promintories (I've always wanted to sneak 'rocky promintory' into my writing, some how). It was good fun, if somewhat wearying. The kayaks they've got at the beach and English Bay are in surprisingly good form.

Anyway, after that we dried off on the beach, had some Korean food, and spent several hours back at the pub celebrating the end of Summer with foofy stuff like Pina Coladas.
