Blake's journal

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Calgary, 2002.04.07

A former colleague from my time at i7 (who said, when we gathered on his last day at the firm, to send him off, that he "would not miss the place"), has started a journal of his own. He's English, he's amusing, he's Blake! He's a budding journalist, which seems to mean he has to bone up on his drunken escapades (certainly a qualification for Canadian journalism, from what I remember), so he has a number of entertaining entries. He's always packing in his work on the journal because he's pissing off his mates with his raw entries, but he can never seem to resist.

rand()m quote

On the endless saga of Rob Ford, mayor of Toronto; "It shouldn't have had to come to this. I'm so tired of getting up every morning and wondering, 'What will it be today?' I'm so tired of giving the benefit of the doubt again and again, only to be let down again and again.... Somewhere a responsible adult has to appear, draw a bright moral line, tell the truth and say unequivocally what won't be tolerated. Somebody has to do the right thing."
