twenty-eight years and a million words

Vancouver, 2002.01.12

This is a Jon Favreau flick. He wrote it and stars in it (along with Vince Vaughn). Favreau is a wannabe boxer and they're both construction workers serving an LA mobster (played with uncanny skill by Peter Falk). When they get the chance to get into the 'bigs' as goons for Falk, they jump at the chance to do a job in NYC.

So they set off. Vaughn's "Ricky" simply cannot control his mouth or his insecurities, and hell starts breaking out. Eventually, everything falls apart. The final scenes are where it all comes together, of course, and it does so in quite a surprising fashion. Definately worth watching.

Recommended.

rand()m quote

It has always seemed strange to me...The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.
