imitrix on TV

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Vancouver, 2001.12.12

I saw the strangest ad on TV the other night. It just showed a woman and her two small children, and I think they were at a playground. The voiceover said, "Have you thought about Imitrix?" and a few similar statements such as "Don't you think it's time you tried Imitrix?" Then a graphic of an tablet with the word Imitrix on it appeared on the screen. The letters making up the word flashed. That was it. Now, being a life-long sufferer of migraines, I know what Imitrix is. But who the hell else knows? I can only imagine the response from the viewership. Most people would ignore the ad, letting it pass over them as they do the other ads, the programs, etc. Some people will ask, "What the hell was that?". But some people would say, "Yes, I need Imitrix, just like in some sci-fi from the 70's.
