met a stranger from my past

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Vancouver, 2001.08.07

Had my first job interview today. It went well, I think. Was warned that "It's a small market, don't burn any bridges". What, me?

Set up my bank account today. Turns out the girl helping me was born in St. Catharines, grew up in Beamsville, and went to Brock. Three points of similarity. I told my brother about it, and he asked her name. I told him, and he stopped dead in his tracks. "I used to play cards with her," he said. Yes, I suppose it could be a small town after all....
