so that's why she wanted to meet

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2001.07.20

I met Sara, today. She's been visiting with friends and family for the last dozen days, and is returning to Sydney in a few days. She seemed okay, but we didn't really discuss much of anything in depth. It's amazing how fast and how far a three-year relationship can disintegrate. The purpose of our reunion was to go to the bank and closing down our joint line of credit at the original branch out on Danforth that we'd selected for some reason.

Fun retro fact: from everything you would later learn about your ex, you would be very glad indeed that you shut down that account. Future Michael, 2016.

rand()m quote

My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was less competition there.
