movie review - Charlie's Angels

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Sydney, 2000.11.24

With a straight out of the original series, an excellent supporting cast, and many a fine layer of cheese, this is an amusing use of two hours. But I'll bet you already knew that.

One odd thing was the incessant use of the Matrix style action. There wasn't any need for it. The best action stuff was all where Barrymore traded blows with the baddies, not when people were ducking bullets, running on walls, and all that. I don't think it fit.

Glover's bad guy was the most watchable thing in the flick, I think, aside from the obvious bits of skin. The news that Barrymore is marrying Green in real life is just bizarre.

Not recommended.
