The original Shaft movies were cult faves, but were actually pretty lame. This one lives down to that original low-water mark through the ridiculous writing (massive plot failure, horrible cliches, cringingly bad characterisation, inexplicable character motivation, etc). Avoid this movie. It gets one star because I didn't walk out.
