Today we bought each other an anniversary gift. It was an excellent choice: an original painting by a Queenslander of a buncha Earth-tone flowers. It's got what Sara suspects is a 'barn-board' frame and a rich blue matte and it's hanging on the wall over a sofa that cost about $10 than the painting itself.
As we were heading home across the harbour bridge, I noticed that at the foot of each drain pipe that came down from the road level above, there was a fine grate, and that on every grate, at the foot of the drain pipe, was a little pile of cigarette butts. It was disgustin'.
