movie review - Fight Club

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Sydney, 2000.04.22

This one was utterly misrepresented in the ads. It was billed as a macho buddy thing between the stars, but it was actually a sci-fi flick of a kind. It's funny, it's quick, it's smartly violent and it's actually pretty clever. The nature of the two main characters is not revealed until near the end of the movie, and it makes what had been a decent movie a good one.

Recommended.

My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was less competition there.
