TD ice sculptures

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2000.01.10

On the way to work today, I noticed some strangely clear, wonderfully sculpted chunks of ice on top of one of the TD Centre's entrances to the 'PATH' system. No one was around, so they just sat there glistening in the sun. They'd been artificially created, I could see, cos they contained small blue flecks.

The way they were melting is what caught my eye; that and the fact that I felt like dawdling on my way to work. I wasn't carrying my camera, unfortunately.

rand()m quote

A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs, and knowledge slowly accumulated in the course of centuries, elements difficult at times to justify by logic, but justifying themselves as paths when they lead somewhere, since they open up for man his inner distance.

—Antoine de Saint-Exupery
