movie review - Sleepy Hollow
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
Holy Moly. Much better than I expected. A very good job by Burton, and great performances by the leads. The swordsman who played Darth Maul in the recent Star Wars flick plays the horseman in the appropriate scenes with such horrifying skill it has to be seen to be believed.
Set in the late 18th century, this has a high dose of ghoulish over-the-top grey-on-black sets and eery, misty wooded backdrops. Quite a fascinating counterpoint to the central theme of violence.
Recommended.
