movie review - The Mummy

Ridiculously over-the-top, but pretty amusing. The lead female is little more than a stupid, empty one dimensional character, much less worth watchig than the subtitled horror of the bad guy, a very undead 3000-year-old mummy.
It's an action comedy, very much along the lines of the Raiders of the Lost Ark genre. They hero gets the girl, the sack full of loot, and kills the baddie. Along the way, the sidekick plays an excellent foil, and the comic relief characters meet grisly deaths. Oh, and stereotyped local grunts-to-die-by-the-dozen resurface, after a near decade of absence from this kind of thing.
Recommended.
