movie review - Halloween II

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 1999.04.17

This one picks up with a re-reeling of the last two thousand frames of the first film, and carries right on. Where the first film covered the evening, this one struggles through the night, as our doctor hunts for the escaped killer, and the killer hunts for the escaped victim-who-killed-him-repeatedly, our girl Jamie Lee. It's a cheap knock-off of the original, much like countless forgettable things that have come out in the past twenty years, and which turn up in those bizarre gore magazines.

Not recommended. See the first one, and leave it at that.

rand()m quote

It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
