movie review - Election

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 1999.11.11

This is a quiet little comedic thing about a number of characters in a small town (Omaha) high school. It involves two teachers, their wives, and their students. Its about sex and betrayal and vindictive, ambitious bitter desperation. Very worth watching.

Strongly recommended.

rand()m quote

A creative person would prefer their music to be stolen and enjoyed than ignored. This is the dilemma for every creative soul: he or she would prefer to starve and be heard than to eat well and be ignored.

—Pete Townshend
