movie review - Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 1999.06.24

I didn't really enjoy this one. It was a cardboard copy of the first - which hadn't really been cinematography - with rehashed jokes and a strangely stiff, almost bored performance by Meyers.

It's also a pretty obnoxious film. The sillyness of the original is replaced by a ghoulish freakishness.

Not recommended.

A lot of people lose the spirit of childhood. Every child has a lot of imagination and you lose it little by little. I don't know why, but I kept it.
