time to leave
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
I've decided to leave my job after nearly two-and-a-half years. I've done some interesting things but I've noticed some off-putting incidents of late. First, I was left off the department's org chart when that was posted. Every single other person in a department of eighty was present, but not me. Then, I was left off the seating plan in a re-org. I get the picture, they don't know what to do with me and/or want me gone. Also, it seems I'm being underpaid by about 30% compared to some of the leads I'm seeing.
A friend who left last year has made an introduction so I'm moving on. Time to go back to start-ups. Maybe "third time's a charm", as this is my third start-up.
Note from 2017: It wouldn't be.
