movie review - The English Patient

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 1997.04.05

This is an excellent movie. Ralph Fiennes and the Juliet Binouche woman do heart-wrenchingly good jobs. Ditto the supporting cast. Set in World War II, it follows various characters in Egypt, where the desert is full of war. Lavishly filmed and beautifully told, this is a story worth immersing yourself into.

Strongly recommended.
