I noticed this book was reissued lately, so I re-read my old copy with its weird '80s cover. As a struggling would-be author I've always marveled at Neuromancer and couldn't help but wonder how derivative my own writing actually was of that great work. Anyway, I take some comfort in the fact that the man didn't just start from a standing start, but had been steadily producing terrific short stories for years before his lifetime achievement novel. Ten of those stories are collected here, and they are without exception engaging and memorable.
