This is a tree that's withstood 60 years of carvings by the family. The most obvious marks were likely made by my grandfather's brother Gill in what the family thinks is '1941'. Just above that is my carving of 'MW' in 1992, and a fresh '2001' below that. On other places on the same tree, my mother and brother have carved their initials.
