wrecked tree, Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia, 2003.10.26

Chako in front of another broken tree. This one is smaller, but is at least 20cm in diametre. I'm glad I was nowhere near this scene when that storm hit. As a stand-up comic from Texas (home of many hurrican landfalls) once said, "When the wind is blowing at 200mph, it's not so much that the wind is blowing, but what the wind is blowing. If you're hit by an airborne Buick...." In this case I don't imagine that there were many airborne Buicks (the wind only hit 150kph), but there were clearly plenty of falling trees.
